Verisk's property claims estimating software for restoration and repair work, with sketching, localized pricing and AI-assisted line-item recommendations.

Overview

Xactimate is Verisk's property claims estimating product, sold under the Xactware brand, for restoration jobs on desktop, online and mobile. The company lists sketching, 3D cutaways, pricing researched across localized markets with labor rates updated monthly, and Sketch Scan, which turns a walkthrough into a connected floor plan.

Xactware also sells related products across the claim lifecycle, including XactAnalysis for assignment and quality assurance, XactLink for contractor-to-carrier estimates, XactContents for personal property and XactRestore for restoration job management.

Eagleview's measurement-reports page says its reports can be ordered and used inside estimating software such as Xactimate.

The AI angle

Xactware describes XactAI as adding intelligence to existing subscriptions. The company lists line-item recommendations, automatic photo labeling and descriptions, ALE receipt processing, and natural-language answers from claims data in XactInsights.

The company says XactAI follows a Responsible AI framework designed to assist claims professionals, not replace them.

Before you buy

Questions worth putting to Xactimate, or any estimating & takeoff vendor, on a demo call:

  • Which file types does it read: PDF plan sets, scans, CAD or BIM models?
  • Can I bring in my own unit costs and assemblies, or am I locked into a cost database?
  • When the software measures automatically, how do I review and correct what it found?
  • What does a finished estimate look like to a customer, and can I put my own branding on it?
