Takeoff and estimating software for measuring, counting and pricing on PDF, CAD and image plans, using assemblies that build the estimate.

Overview

PlanSwift is takeoff and estimating software for measuring, counting and pricing work on PDF, CAD and image plans. Users click on plans to measure areas and lengths and to count items, then drag material, labor and waste assemblies onto those measurements so the estimate builds as the takeoff progresses.

Completed takeoffs and estimates can be reviewed and exported to Excel or to another estimating system. The software includes pre-built assemblies by trade, trade-specific plugins and an EarthWork Pro option for site work.

PlanSwift's Takeoff BOOST tools add automated takeoff, symbol counting, scale detection and sheet linking. Which tools are included depends on the subscription tier. PlanSwift is a ConstructConnect product.

The AI angle

PlanSwift groups its AI tools under the name Takeoff BOOST. The company says Auto Takeoff generates a first-pass takeoff of areas, lengths, counts and wall types, and Auto Count finds every matching symbol across a plan set after the user marks one instance.

According to PlanSwift, Auto Scale reads title blocks to set scale across sheets, and Auto Bookmark links plan sheets to their detail sheets. The company says Essential includes Auto Count, Auto Scale and Auto Bookmark, while Core adds Auto Takeoff.

PlanSwift says its AI is meant to assist the estimator rather than replace their judgment, and that results should be reviewed before they become the final takeoff.
