Oracle Aconex

oracle.com · part of Oracle

Common data environment for construction and engineering projects, managing documents, correspondence, reviews, models, tenders and cost with an audit trail and per-organization data ownership.

Overview

Oracle Aconex is a cloud-based project collaboration system for construction, infrastructure and engineering projects, and forms part of Oracle's common data environment. Oracle says it is built for contractual collaboration among many independent organizations: each organization on a project has a private workspace, owns its data and controls when it shares it, while all documents, correspondence and decisions are kept in an audit trail that can't be edited or deleted.

Core functions include a single document register with version control, project correspondence with mail threading, configurable workflows for reviews and approvals, comment management with an automated review matrix, and model coordination with automated clash detection. Other modules handle tenders and bids, supplier documentation, contract and change management, inspection and test plans, and field inspections, safety walks, punch lists and daily reports through Aconex Field and a mobile app.

Oracle says Aconex links documents to the schedule through Oracle Primavera Cloud integration and offers open APIs for connecting design authoring tools. Archive options let organizations keep project records in the cloud or download them to on-premises storage after a project ends.

Who it's for

Oracle says Aconex is designed for asset owners, general contractors, EPC firms, owner's representatives and project management firms, architects, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors. Users include project directors, document controllers, design managers, project controls teams, site managers and quality and safety staff. Oracle lists construction, infrastructure, engineering, energy, industrial and government sectors, and says the system is particularly suited to large projects where many organizations must collaborate and keep a contractual record.
