Drawing review software that screens design drawings and specifications for errors, omissions and inconsistencies before they go to permit, pricing or construction.
Overview
Buildcheck is design review software that screens drawings and specifications for errors, omissions and inconsistencies before they go to permit, pricing or construction. The company positions it as a way to catch problems that would otherwise come back as city comments, RFIs or change orders.
The workflow has four steps: upload drawings and specs to the web app (or send them to the company), let the system analyze them, review findings marked up on the drawings with severity levels, and manage resolution by assigning tasks and re-checking new submissions. Other modules include drawing comparison between revisions, custom checks built from a client's own QA/QC standards, code compliance checks, and a value engineering feature in beta.
Buildcheck says it syncs comments into Procore as coordination issues or draft RFIs, and lists integrations with ACC, Fieldwire, Revizto and Trimble as planned.
Main capabilities
- Automated review of 2D PDF drawings and specs
- Severity ranking and grouping of flagged items
- Revision comparison with change narratives
- Custom checks built from firm QA/QC standards
- Code compliance checks citing code sections
- Procore sync for issues and draft RFIs
Who it's for
Buildcheck markets to owners and real estate developers, general contractors, and architects and designers, with dedicated pages for general contractors and developers. The company says it reviews architectural, MEP, structural, civil, landscape and low-voltage drawings, is typically used from 50% construction documents onward and can start as early as schematic design, and references commercial and residential projects.

Pricing
Quote on request
Buildcheck doesn't list prices on its website; visitors are directed to schedule a call. Its FAQ says pricing is per sheet with volume discounts, and that unlimited seats are included in the platform fee. The FAQ also says a trial project is available on request, without describing its terms.
As listed on Buildcheck's website in October 2026. Prices change; check with the company for a current quote.
The AI angle
Buildcheck says its AI Design Reviewer uses computer vision to read 2D PDF drawings, including components, geometry, dimensions and spatial relationships, without needing a BIM model or special export. According to the company, it checks drawing health (missing tags, broken references), 2D clashes, omissions and logic rules, and contradictions between drawings and specifications.
The company says its in-house construction experts review AI output before delivery, confirming issues and setting severity, and that this human verification is included in every review. Findings are returned in the web app as marked-up drawings with severities.
Buildcheck also describes AI in its drawing comparison tool, which it says scores how much each sheet changed and writes plain-language descriptions of the changes. It says custom checks are created by turning each line of a client's QA/QC manual or checklist into an automated check, and that code compliance findings cite the code section and sheet.
