AI platform that reads project documents and drawings into a connected knowledge base, with tools for submittals, RFIs, bids, change review and document search.
Overview
Trunk Tools is an AI platform for construction teams that reads a project's documents and drawings and organizes them into a connected knowledge base, which a set of task-specific tools then work from. The company says the platform sits on top of existing systems of record rather than replacing them.
The tools cover common document-heavy jobs: TrunkText for texting questions about a project, TrunkSubmittal for reviewing submittals against specs, TrunkRegister for building a submittal register from a spec book, TrunkReview for spotting changes in new bulletins, TrunkRFI, TrunkBid for comparing subcontractor bids to scope, TrunkBrowse for drawing context, and TrunkChange for change events.
Trunk Tools names integrations with Procore, Autodesk Forma, Box, SharePoint, Egnyte and Dropbox, and says it reads from and writes back to Procore and Autodesk. It also offers an AI Enablement service with jobsite training and change management support.

The AI angle
Trunk Tools calls its core AI layer Cortex. According to the company, Cortex reads drawings, specs, RFIs, bulletins, bids, submittals, contracts, schedules, financials and daily logs, and maps how they relate in a knowledge graph that updates as the project moves forward. The company says a vision layer reads drawing geometry, symbols, cross-sheet references and revision clouds.
The company says its tools run on Cortex and ship pre-built, without prompting or model tuning by the user. Examples it gives include TrunkSubmittal checking submittals against specs and drafting responses, TrunkReview flagging clouded and unclouded changes in new bulletins, and TrunkRFI finding RFIs already answered by existing documents and drafting responses to the rest.
TrunkText, per the company, lets users text questions about a project and get answers that cite the source documents. Trunk Tools says Cortex actions are logged and reviewable and that permissions mirror the project structure.
