Document Crunch

documentcrunch.com · part of Trimble

Construction risk platform that reviews contracts, specs and other project documents to surface risk, then routes it to the right people with workflows from pursuit to closeout.

Overview

Document Crunch is construction risk software that reviews contracts, specifications and other project documents, flags risk items, and gives teams a way to assign and track what they find. The company frames the product around a project's full life, from pursuit and preconstruction through construction and closeout.

The product has two named parts. CrunchAI reads project documents and answers questions with citations back to the source clause. Project Assist sits on top of it and is aimed at day-to-day work: running reviews, drafting submittals, notices and RFIs, building playbooks from a firm's own standards, and tracking risk items as open, overdue or done.

Document Crunch is part of Trimble. Trimble announced the deal on April 2, 2026, and its quarterly SEC filing says the acquisition was completed on April 4, 2026. The announcement said Document Crunch already integrated with Trimble ProjectSight and would be reported in Trimble's AECO segment.

The AI angle

Document Crunch describes CrunchAI as its document-reading engine. According to the company, it reads contracts, specifications, drawings, addenda, flow-down provisions and scope documents in full, including tables, markups and cross-references, and connects findings across related files to surface gaps, conflicts and obligations.

The company says each CrunchAI answer is cited to its source, with a page number and highlighted clause, and that findings are checked against the documents for supporting and conflicting evidence before a response is given. It says tasks are routed across multiple AI models and that customer data is not used to train third-party models.

Project Assist is described by the company as an agentic layer. Document Crunch says it pulls answers from across a project, completes document reviews, and prepares submittals, notices and RFIs for a person to review before they go out.
