Where they differ
How it is priced
Procore
Procore charges an upfront annual fee for each product, based on your Annual Construction Volume, which it defines as the total dollar value of construction work across your projects. Its pricing page says it never charges for adding users.
Autodesk Forma
Autodesk lists no prices. Each bundle has a “Get a Quote” button, and the pricing page refers to flexible user-, project- and account-based pricing. It also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
What it means With Procore, cost follows the volume of work you put through it, not headcount. With Autodesk, ask which of its pricing models your quote uses and what happens to it as your team grows.
What is in the box
Procore
Procore organizes its platform into project execution, cost management, resource management (crews, labor hours and equipment) and project lifecycle management, which ties budgets, contracts and field progress together. It says it covers projects from preconstruction to closeout.
Autodesk Forma
Autodesk sells three bundles. Model Management includes Model Coordination, Design Collaboration, Navisworks Manage and ReCap Pro. Preconstruction includes BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro, TradeTapp, ProEst, Forma Takeoff and Forma Estimate. Construction Operations includes Forma Build and AutoSpecs. Forma Data Management appears in all three.
What it means Autodesk’s range runs from model coordination through bidding and takeoff. Procore puts weight on cost and on scheduling crews and equipment. Map each product list against the work you need covered.
How each describes its AI
Procore
Procore lists five agents: Deep Search, Submittal Review, RFI, Daily Log and Contract Review. It mentions a proprietary reasoning model it calls Magpie, says agents do the gathering and drafting while people make the final call, and says customer data is never used to train third-party models.
Autodesk Forma
Autodesk describes Autodesk Assistant, a conversational tool for finding and summarizing project information, and Construction IQ, which ranks risks found in project data. It also lists AutoSpecs, which flags possibly missing submittal items in specs, automatic symbol counting in Forma Takeoff after you trace one example, and a BuildingConnected engine that recommends subcontractors by location, trade and past performance.
What it means Procore presents its AI as named agents for document-heavy tasks. Autodesk’s AI is spread across individual products, much of it in preconstruction.
Connecting other software
Procore
Procore runs an app marketplace and a developer API, and says it syncs with accounting systems through native connectors.
Autodesk Forma
Autodesk says the platform offers more than 400 pre-built integrations, covering ERP, CRM, document management and analytics tools.
What it means Bring your list: accounting system, scheduling tool, BIM tools. Ask each vendor whether those connections are native, run by a partner, or need custom API work.
What they have in common
Both are quote-only, both cover the core document workflows (RFIs, submittals, drawings, daily reports), both offer mobile field apps, and both serve general contractors, specialty contractors and owners across commercial and infrastructure work.
Which might fit
Procore
Procore may suit contractors and owners who want one platform from office to field, with resource management included and pricing that doesn’t climb as more people log in.
Autodesk Forma
Autodesk Forma may suit teams whose work already runs through model coordination and design collaboration, or who want bidding, takeoff and estimating from the same vendor as their project management.

Questions to ask both vendors
- Which modules are included in this quote, and which features I saw in the demo are add-ons?
- How is the price calculated, and what happens if my annual volume or headcount changes during the term?
- How are subs, architects and owners invited, what can they do for free, and what would they have to pay for?
- Can you show the integration with my accounting system using my cost codes, and which direction does each piece of data flow?
- Can you walk a real submittal from a sub through architect review and back, showing who acts at each step?
- How does a change event become an owner change order and subcontract change orders, and does the result reach billing?
