Togal.AI vs Beam AI
Both use AI to pull quantities off construction drawings. The main difference is who does the work. Togal sells cloud software that your own estimators run. Beam AI’s headline offer is done-for-you takeoffs that its team checks before sending back, with a self-serve option for three trades.

Where they differ
Who runs the takeoff
Togal.AI
Your team does. Users upload a plan set and run Togal’s automated takeoff, which the company calls the Togal Button, then review and adjust the results. Togal says its support team includes former construction estimators who help with the software.
Beam AI
Beam AI’s team, on its Done For You plans. Customers upload plans, specs and supporting documents, and Beam AI says AI extracts the quantities and every takeoff is QA-checked before delivery. Its pricing page says these takeoffs are delivered in 24 to 72 hours. A Do It Yourself plan lets users run and validate AI takeoffs themselves for HVAC, plumbing and steel.
What it means Togal speeds up estimators you already employ. Beam AI’s done-for-you plans take takeoff work off your team’s plate, so plan bid dates around the turnaround it quotes.
How it is priced
Togal.AI
Togal publishes a Growth plan at $299 per user per month, billed yearly, with unlimited automated takeoffs, chat prompts and symbol searches. A Business plan for teams of four or more users is priced on a custom basis.
Beam AI
Beam AI sells annual licenses. Do It Yourself starts at $8K per trade per year, Done For You construction takeoffs start at $25K a year based on trade and volume, and Done For You aerial takeoffs start at $10K per trade per year. Enterprise pricing is custom.
What it means Togal’s cost grows with the number of estimators who need a seat. Beam AI’s grows with the trades you bid and the volume you send.
Trades covered
Togal.AI
Togal has dedicated pages for drywall, painting, framing and lumber, doors and hardware, flooring, electrical, and glass, glazing and windows, plus a page for general contractors.
Beam AI
Beam AI’s pricing page lists Done For You construction takeoffs as available for all trades. Self-serve covers HVAC, plumbing and steel, and the aerial service covers landscaping, snow, paving and striping.
What it means Check your own trade against each list before booking a demo. A tool with a page for your trade is more likely to have takeoff workflows already set up for it.
Beyond the takeoff
Togal.AI
Togal lists an AI search that finds and counts matching images, text or patterns across a plan set, one-click comparison of drawing sets to quantify changes, a chat assistant (Togal Chat) for questions about plans, real-time collaboration, and export of quantities to spreadsheets or other estimating software.
Beam AI
Beam AI lists a bid management view that captures invitations to bid from your email inbox and tracks due dates, owners, RFIs and addenda, plus aerial takeoffs of lawns, pavement, sidewalks and parking lots for maintenance work.
What it means Togal’s extras sit inside the drawings. Beam AI’s reach further back into managing incoming bids.
What they have in common
Both are cloud-based and work from PDF plan sets. Neither pricing page we checked mentions a free trial or free plan, and both send new customers through a demo first.
Which might fit
Togal.AI
Togal may suit firms with estimators in-house who want to measure faster and keep control of every quantity, and who prefer a per-seat price they can see before the demo.
Beam AI
Beam AI may suit firms that want to hand off takeoff volume, are short of estimating capacity, or bid in a trade outside Togal’s list, and that can work to a turnaround measured in days rather than minutes.

Questions to ask both vendors
- Which file types does it read, including scanned PDFs, photos, CAD drawings and models?
- Can you run a takeoff on one of my own plan sets during the demo instead of a prepared sample?
- When it measures automatically, how do I see what it found and correct mistakes, and how long does that review usually take on a set like mine?
- Can I import my own unit costs, labor rates and assemblies, or am I tied to a built-in cost database?
- How does it handle a revised sheet or addendum: can I compare versions and carry my takeoff forward?
- How are markup, overhead, alternates and exclusions handled on the bid summary?
