LightTable

lighttable.ai

Quality-control tool that reviews drawings, specs and change documents for errors and coordination issues before construction, and tracks issues to sign-off.

Overview

LightTable is a quality-control product that reviews construction documents before building starts. Users upload drawings and related documents such as specs, change orders and checklists, and LightTable returns issues covering errors, omissions, coordination conflicts and constructability problems, ranked by priority.

Its QA/QC review works across architectural, structural, MEP, civil and other disciplines and shows the relevant drawings side by side. Other modules cover value engineering suggestions with pros, cons and downstream impacts; risk analysis comparing GMP documents with drawings and specs; page-by-page comparison of drawing set versions; and rerunning projects at different design phases to track whether issues were resolved.

The platform includes collaboration tools such as unlimited users, comments and review tracking, with issue history and ball-in-court ownership tracked from first flag to sign-off. LightTable also offers an expert double check that adds human validation to its automated findings.

Who it's for

LightTable describes its users as developers, owners, general contractors and architects. It pitches developers and owners on adding a repeatable QA process and spotting cost drivers early, and general contractors on bidding with a clearer view of costs and reducing RFIs and change orders. The company frames its use from early drawings through the final GMP, and recommends running reviews at multiple design milestones.

The AI angle

LightTable describes itself as AI-powered quality control. According to the company, its AI reviews uploaded drawings and documents across disciplines and surfaces high-priority coordination and constructability issues before they turn into RFIs or change orders. LightTable says the AI is trained on real-world building logic and produces a peer review report.

The company says user feedback personalizes how issues are prioritized on future projects. It also pairs its AI detection with an optional expert double check, in which human reviewers validate the automated findings.
