Overview
BuildingConnected is Autodesk's bid management and subcontractor qualification product. It connects general contractors, owners and subcontractors around the bidding process, from finding bidders and sending invitations through comparing bids and vetting trade partners. Autodesk notes that Autodesk Construction Cloud is now part of Autodesk Forma.
The product is sold as three parts. BuildingConnected Pro is for general contractors and owners running bids: inviting bidders, leveling and comparing bids side by side, and tracking historical bid data. Bid Board Pro is for subcontractors tracking incoming invitations and due dates. TradeTapp handles subcontractor qualification and risk review using questionnaires, limit calculations and financial ratios.
Autodesk says winning bids can move into Autodesk Build's cost management tools to become contracts, and that BuildingConnected works with Autodesk Docs for document management. TradeTapp risk information can be shared with estimating teams in BuildingConnected Pro.

Autodesk's BuildingConnected pricing page lists BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp with "Request a Quote" rather than prices, and also offers a Forma for Preconstruction bundle. It refers to user-, project- and account-based pricing and mentions a 30-day money-back guarantee; no free trial is listed.

The AI angle
Autodesk describes a recommendation engine across BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp that suggests bidders for a project based on location, trade expertise and past performance, with the aim of helping teams find suitable subcontractors to invite.
For subcontractors, Autodesk says a bid forwarding feature pulls key details out of bid invitations received outside BuildingConnected and organizes them on the Bid Board. In TradeTapp, the company says AI converts PDF financial statements into structured data for use in qualification. Autodesk also notes that some of its AI features do not use machine learning and points readers to its Trust Center for details on training data.
