Hiring platform connecting construction craft professionals with contractors, offering workers a job board and profiles and contractors a way to find workers.

Overview

Skillit is a hiring platform that connects construction craft workers with contractors. Workers build a profile covering their work experience, skills and pay preferences, then review job matches. Skillit says the service is free for craft professionals.

For employers, Skillit offers worker search with a large set of filters such as commute distance, desired pay, skills and past employers, plus a map view of candidates, commute-time estimates to project sites, and skill assessments for journeyman-level trades and general laborers.

Recruiter tools include real-time collaboration between office and site recruiters, role-based admin controls, usage and performance reporting, hiring goals and funnel benchmarks, and single sign-on. An automated scheduling assistant called Sam handles interview outreach and scheduling.

Quote on request

Skillit says its platform is free for craft professionals. It doesn't list prices for employers on its website; contractors are directed to book a demo or talk to sales.

The AI angle

Skillit describes itself as an AI hiring platform for enterprise construction. Its main named AI feature is Sam, an automated scheduling assistant for recruiters. According to the company, when a recruiter chooses to call a worker, Sam places the call, briefs the worker and connects them to the recruiter; if the worker doesn't answer, Sam follows up by text, answers basic job questions and proposes a new time.

Skillit says Sam schedules and reschedules interviews within set availability windows, sends reminders, adjusts for time zones and works in 13 languages. Admins can turn on call recording, in which case Sam records, transcribes and summarizes calls. The company states that Sam does not screen or score candidates, conduct interviews or make hiring decisions.

Skillit also says its AI analyzes worker pay data to recommend wages and estimate how likely a worker is to accept an offer at a given rate.
