Software suite for heavy civil contractors spanning estimating (HeavyBid), field operations and job costing (HeavyJob), safety, plans, fleet maintenance and telematics.
Overview
HCSS sells a suite of software for heavy civil and infrastructure contractors that links estimating, field operations and equipment management. HeavyBid handles estimating and bidding, and HeavyJob covers job costing and project management, tracking project, material and labor costs and equipment use.
Other products include HCSS Safety, HCSS Plans for digital plan management, HCSS Dispatcher, time tracking and resource planning tools, Equipment360 for fleet maintenance, HCSS Telematics GPS devices and fuel management. HCSS Insights provides standard and custom reports built on Microsoft Power BI, and HCSS Cloud hosts the software on HCSS-managed servers.
HCSS says HeavyJob data can sync to accounting and payroll applications, and it offers APIs through a developer portal and third-party apps through the HCSS Marketplace. In July 2026 the company was acquired by the Nemetschek Group.

The AI angle
HCSS calls its AI offering HCSS AI and says the current assistant is included in existing subscriptions across HeavyJob, HeavyBid, HCSS Safety and HCSS Plans. According to the company, users can type requests to navigate to jobs, employees or timecards; ask about budget performance and get answers or variance charts across active jobs; get a summary of the change history on a HeavyBid estimate; ask questions about uploaded documents such as SOPs, contracts or safety documents; and condense HeavyJob daily digest data into a short narrative.
HCSS has also announced HCSS AI Core, a data layer joining estimating, field, fleet and safety data, and HCSS AI Studio for configuring and monitoring AI agents, labeled as coming in fall 2026. Planned pre-built agents include a Production Analyst that flags over-budget cost codes, an Estimate Builder that drafts estimates from imported pay items and estimate history, and a Field Agent that drafts daily reports from a foreman's voice recording. HCSS says agents and Studio will be a paid upgrade after a beta.
The company says agent results are returned for user review before anything is finalized, existing permissions limit what the AI can see, and customer data is not used to train AI models.
