Overview
Touchplan is a cloud-based collaborative planning and scheduling tool for construction teams, built around lean practices and the Last Planner System. Teams build pull plans on a digital board and convert them into short-term lookahead plans, using what the company calls its patented Active Line to activate sequenced work. Field teams can update plans from mobile devices.
Touchplan's Master Schedule Synchronization connects field planning with CPM tools including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera Cloud. The company describes the process as human-in-the-loop: schedulers decide which field updates enter the CPM schedule, and field leaders review changes coming from the master schedule. Touchplan flags logic issues, such as a task move that would push a linked milestone.
For reporting, Touchplan offers project, portfolio and company analytics views tracking metrics such as percent plan complete, milestone reliability, constraint resolution and labor trends. The AI angle
Touchplan markets one AI feature, BoardScan. The company says BoardScan takes a photo of a physical Big Room planning board covered in sticky notes and uses AI to turn it into structured digital Touchplan tickets, so teams don't have to transcribe the board by hand.
According to Touchplan, BoardScan flags items that need attention so the team can review and confirm them before import. Once confirmed, the tickets are placed into the project's existing swimlanes and configuration, where they can be used for field coordination and production tracking.
