Adaptive
adaptive.build
Project-level accounting platform for construction handling job costing, payables, billing, WIP, forecasting, change orders and compliance, exporting reviewed figures to the existing general ledger.
Overview
Adaptive is project accounting software for construction companies. It covers job costing and cost coding, accounts payable, client billing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, forecasting, change orders and compliance documents. The company positions it as a layer that works alongside an existing accounting system rather than requiring an ERP migration.
The product is organized around a set of software agents, each assigned to a back-office workflow: payables, billings, change orders, lien waivers, insurance certificates, WIP and forecasting, and gathering updates from field staff. Adaptive says a person reviews each action before anything is posted to the general ledger, and that field staff don't need to adopt new software.
Adaptive's website lists Sage, QuickBooks, Foundation and Acumatica among the accounting systems it connects to, and shows project management, banking, card and email tools in its integrations section. The company says the first agent is typically running within 30 to 90 days.

Pricing
Quote on request
Adaptive's pricing page doesn't list dollar amounts. It says customers pay a monthly base fee scaled to their revenue band, with additional agents scoped up front; it states there are no per-seat or transaction fees and that contracts are month-to-month. No free trial is mentioned.

The AI angle
Adaptive describes its product as a set of AI agents that each handle a defined accounting task. According to the company, its AP Clerk ingests invoices, codes them to jobs, routes approvals, syncs them to the accounting system and flags possible duplicates and fraud. Its Billings Clerk drafts client billings from approved costs, gets field sign-off and sends them to clients or enters them into client portals.
The company says its WIP & Forecasting Analyst combines financial data with PM updates, daily logs and conversations to maintain WIP and forecasts and to flag delays and missed change orders. Its Change Order Clerk, Adaptive says, compares change requests with contracts, job costs and field updates, drafts change orders and can hold subcontractor payments until a client approves.
Adaptive also lists compliance agents that chase lien waivers, insurance certificates and W-9s by email, text and phone, and a Field Coordination Clerk that collects updates from supers and PMs. The company says its AI does not post to the general ledger automatically; a person reviews each action first.
