Nearmap

nearmap.com

High-resolution aerial imagery and AI-derived property data, delivered through a map browser, apps and APIs for insurance, AECO and government users.

Overview

Nearmap describes its offering as property intelligence built on its own aerial imagery, AI analytics and workflow applications. Its site lists applications including MapBrowser, Betterview, itel NOW and ImpactResponse, plus integrations and APIs, and data products including imagery, AI Insights, Disaster Insights, itel Pricing and itel Analysis.

MapBrowser is described as a mapping app for viewing and working with project and property data. The company lists vertical, panoramic and oblique aerial views with 3D and true ortho options, archived imagery with a timeline, height, pitch and length measurements, shared projects, data exports, and property information such as building footprints, height and roof condition.

Nearmap says its imagery is captured in per-pixel detail of roughly 1.57 to 2.95 inches and refreshed up to three times a year.

Pricing

Quote on request

Nearmap doesn't list prices on the pages we read. Its calls to action are Start Mapping, Let's Talk and Get a Demo, which lead to a sales contact page, and the pages don't mention a free trial or free plan.

The AI angle

Nearmap says it uses one global AI model that generates 130+ semantic property layers, trained entirely on its own data, and describes its approach as end-to-end owned with no third-party dependencies. These are company claims; the site gives no accuracy benchmarks.

On the MapBrowser page the company says its AI automatically identifies changes, assesses construction progress or vegetation growth, and generates data layers and purpose-built tools for inspecting areas quickly.

Before you buy

Questions worth putting to Nearmap, or any aerial measurement & roof reports vendor, on a demo call:

  • What does a report include: area, pitch, edges, waste factors, material lists?
  • How is it priced: per report, per subscription or by credits?
  • How quickly are reports delivered, and what happens if imagery is out of date or the structure is obscured?
  • What accuracy guarantee or re-measure policy does the vendor offer?
