Choosing aerial measurement & roof reports software

Aerial measurement services and software produce roof, wall and property measurements from imagery, so you can estimate without climbing the roof.

Our own general advice, not a recommendation of any product.

Questions to ask on every demo

  • What does a report include: area, pitch, edges, waste factors, material lists?
  • How is it priced: per report, per subscription or by credits?
  • How quickly are reports delivered, and what happens if imagery is out of date or the structure is obscured?
  • What accuracy guarantee or re-measure policy does the vendor offer?
  • Does it connect to my estimating or CRM software?

What to watch for

  • Aerial imagery can miss recent additions, tree cover and complex roofs. Ask how the vendor handles corrections.
  • Per-report pricing is simple at low volume; compare it with subscriptions if you order often.

If you are a small firm

Order the same address from two providers and compare the reports against a field measurement before committing.
